Dr Athena Savvidou graduated at the University of Witwatersrand (wits) in 1995. She continued her studies where she obtained a FCP (SA) in 2003 and a Certificate of Nephrology in 2005. In 2006 she received the Best Doctor Award at Netcare Olivedale Hospital. Where she has been practising for over 20 years.

As a kidney specialist and physician in Johannesburg, Dr. Savvidou possess a great deal of experience in management of critical care, chronic kidney disease, dialysis, kidney transplant management, and internal medicine.
